Galapagos – 8 Days + Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu Eclipse, December 2009 I saw your website, was impressed, asked some questions, was more impressed with the answers and booked it; so glad we did! The whole trip was a dream come true! The Galapagos has been a place we have long dreamed of going to and it exceeded all our expectations. The animals were amazing. In Peru, the hotels were great--I could never have imagined how beautiful the Inca Terra or Sol y Luna grounds would be. The people who picked us up at the airport and at the hotels were totally punctual EVERY TIME! The hacienda we had lunch at the first day in the Sacred Valley was amazing and Mrs. Nilda's weaving place was fascinating. When I bought a modest table runner, they brought the lady who had woven it to meet me. She was so proud; it nearly brought tears to my eyes! It was wonderful to have the add-on suggestions (i.e., NAPO and day tours in Quito) and then have it all knit together with the Metropolitan Tours folks in Ecuador (we wished we could bring them home with us to organize our lives). My expectations were very high, and the trip surpassed them! There were so many memorable moments like snorkeling with the sea turtles, sitting on the black lava cliffs on Punta Suarez with the surf pounding below and 100's of waved albatross flying overhead. Climbing Cotopaxi volcano in a thunder snowstorm and sitting in a dugout canoe with troops of squirrel and capuchin monkeys crossing right overhead. I could list many more! The guides and crew were outstanding. Our guide was a videographer and we have a personalized DVD to remember our experience by. The boat crew were friendly and very attentive to detail. For example, every time we left our cabin the bed was made and the towels were arranged into unusual animal shapes. Galapagos Cruise - 10 days Polaris, May 2008 This was the trip of a lifetime!!!! I wasn't sure what to expect but everything was totally awesome. All the passengers seemed to be very interested in everything that was going on. Not like the cruise I went on to Alaska where when they announced that whales had been spotted and only 30 passengers out of 2000 showed up on the bow!!!!! They only had one naturalist but that was all they needed since most of the people were apparently there to shop. Yuck!! It was great to be with like-minded folk. I appreciated that everything was done for us and that she provided plenty of information concerning what to do and how to handle things. We were better prepared than other passengers, especially for the Machu Picchu extension. The Galapagos trip exceeded expectations. Galapagos Cruise - 11 Days Diamante, July 2007 The trip was fantastic and our guide was excellent. She showed great responsibility in ensuring the protection and respect for the wildlife and that all national park guidance was complied with. It is a pity some other parties and guides from other vessels weren't as responsible or professional. The vessel was excellent, very good accommodation for her size and the crew was excellent. The food was very good and we had great variety from the ship's cook. The people from Metropolitan Tours who handled the airport to hotel transfers in Quito were superb! Very professional and friendly, and the information they gave us about Quito and how to negotiate our way through the airports was invaluable. The most memorable part of the trip was Deirdre seeing her beloved Blue Footed Boobies for the first time and having an Albatross land right at my feet!!!!
